Automotive wire can get expensive. If the gauge does not need to be large and the circuit is not critical, like with LED lighting, I have found that a source for wire is trailer wiring. It is color coded and IIRC 18 gauge. And you can get 4 good lengths for just a few dollars. But don't use those stab connectors lol. If you're not going to solder, then butt connectors with dielectric grease and shrink tubing over them is a good connection.

Oh yeh and BTW it's color coded instead of pulling it off a spool all the same and having to tape it, tie knots in the ends or some such.
