This is what the Yamaha rep told him. Which is why I hope to be able to talk to them. I met a couple who won one at windrock last year. They put hard surface tires on it and ride around town. They seem to have no problems and I have seen them out a few times, and my cabin was 1 mile from the trails.

A regional Ford representative once told me that my car was "living on borrowed time" with 50K miles on it which is why they wouldn't cover the blown head gasket.

I have no doubt the low oil was the problem. The biggest question I have is why did it lose ANY oil in 400 miles, the second oil change is at 1500 miles I believe. At that rate I will change the oil at least 3 times just by refilling it.

Does the wolverine have a siphon break? I know my rhino (660 with the CDI to remove the rev limiter) will puke a little oil through the PCV when running near top speed for a while. Still I probably get 40-50 high speed pavement miles before I have to add oil.

Got my wolverine back last week they replaced the top end. Only put about 30 miles on it so far but seams to be running great. Hopefully this will be the only problem I have with it

I have 600 miles, service was done at 200 at the dealer. When it died the oil was barely on the dipstick. Long story short Yamaha gave no problems and is sending the parts under warranty. My only question, which I hope to be able to ask the Yamaha rep, is they told the dealer that riding on the road for only 1 mile is what caused the problem. He said the motor does not have enough oil to run at high speed for long distance. I was going 30-35 for .9 miles. He also said that they will use some oil and to keep it at the top of the oil level. I can't remember the reason said for this. I don't see how it could use any oil in 400 miles. One of the main questions for the rep is why a wolverine cannot run on the road without breaking but my friends '16 Viking rode the same road, at the same time as mine with no problem. He has rode way more road miles than me, I don't like to have my tires on pavement any. They are taking care of the problem and I am not complaining, but it does not sound right that a short road trip can cause this problem. I had not seen the oil level low before this happened.
    thats funny
