    I think I will take the shim off, and see what happens. This Yamaha feels like it has a 1000 in it now. Thanks for all your hard work and testing James and all the crew

    i dont run a shim but some just gotta get all they can and just service it more for the extra bottom end

    One thing I would like to add is that when the weather gets cold, you will hear some knocking noises for a while after you 1st start your Yamaha. All 3 Yamahas I've owned sounded like they were ready to throw a rod for a while after start up. These clutches are noisey when they start up cold.

    Let me tell you what it sounds like. It sounds like "I better shut it off and tear the engine down to see what's letting go" It really likes to do it around 10 degrees or lower for a minute or so.

    50's the cutoff for me and the wife, been out 3times since dec24th in 60's all 3 times
