    Secondary sheave/wet clutch drum

For the life of me i cannot get the secondary spring nut to crack and I'm even using a spring compressor. It appears the spring collar is bent now too. Anyone had this issue before?

Also, when do you guys recommend it is necessary for a new wet clutch drum?

    Thanks in advance

It's compressed all the way when the nut is tight.,your just holding it to keep it from flying apart when the nut comes off

Thanks James got er off new grease in secondary. Binds when traveling up and down now must've been why I had to force it so much to get the nut off.

It can be difficult to break the nut free. Here is a home-brew tool to support the secondary assembly in a vise in order to keep it from turning while you break the nut loose with a hefty wrench. Once the nut is loose do not remove it completely. Then you can put the cap and nut onto the tool to compress the spring. At that point you can reach through the cut-outs in the cap to spin the nut with your fingers until it is off of the threads. Then you can back the clamping nut off and remove the clamping nut and cap.

    I got er Steve.
However it doesn't seem like my secondary moves freely. Wants to stop before maxing out on the pins. Should it not move all the way up and down on those pins?

With the nut, collar (washer) and spring off, you should be able to slide the moveable sheave off. There will be the pins to remove. Clean and grease everything and then re-assemble. Sand and dust could be gumming up the works. The service manual should be helpful regarding the details.
