2018 King of Hammers

Well it ain't over until it's over.
Any driver and any vehicle that finishes this race is a winner IMO.
That is one tough SOB.

Some drivers last year said the course wasn't difficult enough, so Dave Cole hooked them up. Only a dozen or so completed the course from 120 starters.
C.J. Greaves and his dad (I think that's correct) Johnny Greaves were running first and second at the end of the first lap.
It was the first UTV class race for each of them, both in Yamaha YXZ's. It may have been C.J.'s first race ever at KOH.
The live broadcast jumps around a lot, so it's hard to keep up with information.
C.J. made an error dropping off a rocky part of the course, which rolled him over, allowing winner Guthrie to pass.



C.J. also missed a check point, which added 15 minutes to his time. This dropped him from third to fifth place finish. Johnny Greaves finished seventh.

Dan Waller (not Weller as I posted earlier) had an exiting to watch drop off Back Door section of the course.



Overall online coverage by Ultra4 and Livestream was improved from previous years.

commentator keeps talking about how difficult it is for the Yamaha to get through and the Can am with low range and cvt has the advantage

lol as soon as he said that the X3 had a bunch of problems and had to winch. It was like the kiss of death saying how much better it was. I also liked how at the last hill climb before Hammertown when he said the YXZ has to stop and take it out of low range. The YXZ's had to stop before the hill to lock the front diff then unlock the front diff and slow down to unlock it.

I was hoping I wasn't the only one who saw that I commented on the live chat that the commentators need schooling on the YXZ trans with rekluse.
