damn canham
well new rims were on 2 days then the 1st trip down to the creek done jacked one up......still holds air just fine so guess i will just keep on going with them and see how much more gets knocked off. I am guessing the spring ride will make the other 3 match it before the weekend is over if these trails are anything like the fall ride trails lol

took a chisel to the edge to get the sharp bur off so it dont cut into the tire.
if the tire doesn't have a rim guard that happens pretty easy
I don't know how HD is but ITP has a lifetime warranty or did when I ran them
they are made by STI and it just says lifetime structural warranty but sure they are just going to say its normal wear and tear when you bang a rock. if it cracks there and starts leaking i will contact them and see what they say then. I didnt like the idea of ordering them without actually seeing them in person but i took a chance. As soon as i looked at them i knew those pieces stuck out and would not be good around rocks. was hoping the 10" tire on the 7" rim would help keep the big rocks away from the edge but guess not.
Well you don't have to worry about scratching them up anymore, lol.... I'd say the wheel manufacture for that style of wheel would say that was abuse by operator.... I'm with Timmi on a good tire that has a rim/rock guard built into the sidewall if you ride in the rocky terrain. I've taken some pretty hard hits in the rocks with the Pit Bulls and haven't damaged rim/wheel like your pics show.

Style of rim has a little to do with it also. That rim sticks out quite abit beyond the bead just looking at the picture.
it does and thats why i dont like to buy online without actually seeing 1 in person for something like that. Pics i saw online didnt show that they were raised in that area or they would still be on their shelf. oh well it is what it is and will just have to see how long they last, didnt plan on them looking new forever but didn't plan on a rock doing more than scratching them either lol ..... that must be some pretty soft material around the edge.
I've been looking at buying some wheels for several months now and the ones I really like are 220 apiece. Still trying to justify spending the money for them.

I would buy the bronze STI HD5's if they made them in 4/110mm but they don't. I emailed them and asked and was told as of right now they have no plans in making any in bronze. They're about 100 per wheel cheaper.

Come hear, I think I hear something........ No tan-lines on the girls around here.
I thought you might put the hair dryer to work. You spooled that baby up yet Kenny?

I've put 300+ miles on it and have rolled it, stuck it, and walked back to camp from being a bit aggressive with it. My problem is I ride solo so much and you need to be a bit more timid than my personality! Used the Rhino to winch it out of a ravine this year. The snow is getting pretty wet and slushy, w/ bare spots to the areas that I like to ride to. The hair dryer is one bad ass sled and can get it there very quick. Have enjoyed it, but much more power than I really need. Price was right and low hours!

I thought winter was done down low, but this morning it wants to come back. Even though it won't stay down here, the mountains have picked up a foot of fresh since yesterday morning.

Hey fellers!!!
been a busy busy boy at work lately and haven't had time to get on here much or even get out and ride for that matter.
only been riding once since last fall :(
I did buy a new Phantom drone to get some good pics and videos of riding, I purchased it because it has a follow me mode where it will lock in on your gps in your tablet or phone that you use for the screen and it will follow you and shoot video.
here's a cool pic from yesterday up below a frozen lake about 3 hours from the house.http://hotrodforums.net/forums/attac...id=11308&stc=1
Nice. You must've bought the phantom 4. I've got a phantom 3 I'm gonna be selling as soon as I can find a good place to sell it. They're fun to fly.

Nope it was a factory refurbished Phantom 3 Standard, still trying to figure everything out on it.
going to download the Litchi app because it has way better settings and the follow me mode actually works in Litchi.
you can also set way points on your computer and it will follow the way point even if it has no connection with the controller.
you can set it to travel a certain distance and take a pic or video of an object then turn to the next way point and do the same or have it orbit around an object and shoot video.
I'm still too nervous to fly it too far, yesterday I flew it 750 feet away and was nervous as hell lol some guys are getting theirs 1.5 miles away.
I bought the P3 Advanced. Used it for what I needed it for, I bought a bunch of extra stuff for it cause I thought it was gonna be a long term hobby but I just don't have the time for it.
