I don't think he means a fuel jug. He is saying the exhaust melted the machines fuel cell.

I think you are correct, my bad. His entire exhaust pipe must have been hot instead of just the muffler. The pipe comes close to the tank but the muffler is on the opposite side of the machine. Either way, if something is getting that hot you stop taking it out and you get it fixed. I don't think this is a common Wildcat problem...at least not one that I have heard of.
Oh yeah I 100% agree and that's why I wouldn't buy from bass pro shop and why I drive 2 hours to have any warranty work done on my Teryx 4. A good service dept is crucial. I have a Kawasaki dealer 10 mins from home and wouldn't let them touch my machine.

Sounds like something went wrong with the tune on some of these. If the pipe is glowing, it is lean for some reason. I wonder how many engines let go because of this. I had a new quad one time that had a really bad lean pop and stumble. It ran like shit, and I had it to a few dealerships while under warranty to fix it. None of them knew anything about jetting, or they just didn't, or couldn't, rejet to make it run right. I kept hearing, "everything is to factory specs".
Most dealerships suck, and are useless after they get your money. Seems like part of ownership is learning how to work on these yourself.
I had a Suzuki cruiser that would always pop on decel since new. Took it to the dealer a couple times and they said everything was as it should be. I did some research and found out Suzuki put a spacer on the seat/needle to make it run lean intentionally to pass the required US emissions. I removed that spacer and it ran like a champ. Dealer was either clueless, or wasn't allowed to divulge the info to customers.
