TERYX4 800 Belt Recall

Kawasaki has issued a recall on some 2014 Teryx4 800 models.
The fix will be a new primary sheave assembly and a new belt.

Me too.

Interestingly, Vforcejohn said that there were basically no changes to the new primary clutch other than a lighter weight spring inside the primary. I find that odd. It would seem that Kawasaki would not have gone to the expense of a new clutch if all that was changed was the primary spring. John seems to be a good source of information in the Kawi world, so I respect him. Therefore, I found it odd when he said the sheave angles were the same and the weights were the same and all that was different was a weaker primary spring.

I'll definitely be getting the recall parts ASAP. The clutch is the only part about my Teryx4 that I don't feel confident in.

Today I spoke with the closest Kawasaki dealer about having the recall work performed on my Teryx4. The service department there was extremely friendly. They immediately knew of the problem and put me on the list. There were 11 Teryx waiting to have the new CVT parts installed. The service tech even printed out the order and dealer bulletin for me to keep.

Kawasaki is even going to reimburse me for the belt that failed several months ago because of the faulty CVT.

Again, this recall is for 2014 Teryx4 (and Teryx2) 800cc machines. You get an entire new primary clutch assembly (inner and outer sheaves) and a new belt.

Vforcejohn must have got the wrong info this time. Cause if it was just a softer spring why would Kawi want the dealer to send all new clutches and belts in inventory back to them marked as defective?

But cool!! Glad to hear you're on the list to get set up. Be interesting if has a noticeable change that you can tell.
