Necessity was laid upon me cause the reverse gear mod was of course never done so is now required, I guess the liability of buying the first year of a new model so that the product development now gets completed at my cost. So reverse dropped into middle drive pinion set and so I have to put on my big-boy panties and write the check without sniffling. If someone doesn't know it requires taking the whole motor apart to access the transmission. While tearing down James discovered a kink in my intake clamp which kept seal from being complete and a leak allowed a lot of junk into intake so it ruined piston, rings and cylinder and intake valve s. Since OEM is actually more $$$ to replace I am going with the 734 that James runs and recommends. going to add an MSD, exhaust and cam. Also replacing oil Pump as a safety. James has got some cam ideas that he wants to experiment with so I am going to let him use my bike to do and let him announce it as he sees fit.
I will from this point check my intake seals much more carefully, and put some putty around them and ducttape as well--not kidding.

Sorry to here about your bad luck I know the feeling (been there done that ). Trust me though the end of the story is a hole lot better you will be happy that it happened believe it or not lol.

Shucks on the bad luck with the motor but congrats that you had the sense to take it to the Hot Rod to finish the development that Yamaha never finished. Look forward to hearing what your thoughts are when the Hot Rod hands it back over to ya.
