Thanks jimclemjr & SteveS for your suggestions and ideas. I've thought about just taking the bike to a canvas shop and having them made up a removable ragtop also. Looking at options. Would be interested in seeing pictures of both roofs if you've got the time.

Thanks. I experimented on a relatively narrow strip of leftover material to be sure that it would wrap as I wanted. My biggest problem was that the circular saw that I was using had a bit of endplay in the rotating arbor. That caused a side to side chatter in the kerf that made me rather unhappy. Needless to say, that saw is no longer in my tool collection :-)

wow. they look good and parallel in the photo. no way would i have the patience to do that.

SteveS- you prob already know this but just in case--next time you kerf the ACM you can use a router with a v-groove bit and make your passes with that. Easy to control with a clamp on straight edge guide bar...use a 60 degree bit for best results unless they make one sharper? Not sure..
