James drove it down the road and back when it was all back together
he said it rode better and had more power than he expected
and that's with 27" mud tires
he did recommend changing the secondary spring, always thinking.......

Polaris makes a good one every now and then. My father had an '08 rzr 800 that went over 2k before he sold it. It drank a quart of oil between changes, but other than that it served him well. Taking care of them is key. He has a Teryx 800 now.

I really don't think they are a bad product, there's just a lot of them sold and most of the buyers are clueless on maintenance. A fella dropped by James' place yesterday who owns a 900XP and he had nothing bad to say about it. He said the bushings in his had 5,000 miles on them.
The overall fit and finish on mine is nowhere near the Wolverine though. Mine feels like a cart, the Wolvy feels like a car. If Polaris would step up to Yamaha overall quality they would have some awesome products.

Hey Timmi, since you mentioned your Polaris and the wolverine in the same sentence, how about a comparison review. You know power, speed, trail capability. The people want to know(lol). Thanks

Power is close to the same with both stock. The 567 cc Prostar is legit, that's why Polaris is shoving it into everything.. Speed, the 570 runs out at 57-59 stock, the Wolverine about 52 mph. Trail capability, the Wolvy lives here, it's made for trails. The Yamaha Ultramatic with diff lock has it all over the Prostar cvt. The Wolvy is smooth, responsive, has awesome engine braking, and of course the KYB 4 way adjustable shocks on the Yamaha Wolverine put it with the best utv's made right now. Yes, they are that good.
The cab is more comfortable and spacious on the Wolverine with good foot positioning. I rode 75 miles in it and wasn't even tired or sore like I am at that distance with my 570. Again, the KYB shocks have a lot to do with that. The 570 is a good entry level sxs, that's why I bought it. I had never even ridden in a sxs before I got mine. For most trail riding and for owners who ride in areas that have a 50" width restriction, the 570 does fine. Put some good shocks on them, good tires, and it will serve you well. The factory a-arm bushings are plastic, they should be better material. The engine and cvt is quiet and reliable. Some models have engine braking. They get great fuel mileage.
The Wolverine really shines with the suspension. It rides very smooth. It has good ground clearance. The engine and cvt need easier access. The cvt is loud (to me) at high speed (above 45 mph). The overall fit and finish is better on the Wolverine. I paid $8,860 out the door for my 570 in 2012. Maybe a Polaris 900 trail now would be a better comparison, but that's not what you asked, is it?
