I'm not a fan of CP because they don't coat their skirts.
That being said, it doesn't explain the wrist pin galling.
Do you let the engine completely warn up before you ride?
With a forged piston in my rhino, I start the engine and let it warm up till I hear the fan come on the second time.
Forged pistons need to expand to fit the bore.
That is why I asked for the piston clearance.
Forged pistons are typically fit 0.0015" looser than cast pistons on a 4" bore.

for the most part yes. as this was a new install, the first time fired up was let to idle until fan came on than shut down to total cold. second time started, same thing til fan came on than a mild run back and forth my long driveway for about half hour. after that it was warm up for alittle before riding. only used it maybe 4 times around property until this happened.

Probably me just being anal but I always start it, then have a beer and a smoke while it warms up.
Mine will run for 5 or 10 minutes before I ride it sometimes.

There doesn't look like a lot of heat in the piston like it went lean.
It looks like lack of oil. Especially with the wrist pin galled up like that.

What were you using for oil? It was pretty freaking cold this winter.

normally use synthetic, but for break in time I put in normal oil from the dealer.
oil is always checked before every startup. always.
It looked good for gettin oil, all areas where soaked when we tore it down.
