Has anyone heard or seen using a stock battery box on the driver side the hold an extra battery?
Looking for ideas on putting an extra battery on my 2012 Rhino 700.

i haven't done it to mine, but most guys put them close to the stock battery location to facilitate wiring and mounting.
if you do a search in the electrical section there's a lot of different ways to do it.
in the interim i'll see if i can find you a thread.

I do recall at least one post showing a modified Rhino battery box positioned in a new location. It was either in the center or on the driver's side, but I don't really recall which. You should be able to find it, hopefully in the Rhino electrical section.
Another spot, where you can fit a much larger battery, is under the driver's seat. There will be posts in the same electrical section.

That's mine Steve. It's in the middle. Fit as if it were designed to go there - after I cut the little side piece off with my table saw. I'm not sure how the newer ones are made but the batt box is different post-07 and I think the newer rhinos have the air filter box or something in the middle?

Found this as good option if you want a mount, probably more out there and maybe cheaper. Me I would make a hold down bracket and mount it under seat. Just make sure its a 100 percent sealed battery like an optima. even the cost of the extra wire would offset buying a mount and you could use any battery size.
