Split case and found parts??? HELP

I bought a 700 grizzly for the case but found my rod was bad as well on mine so would like to try and use that as well. Problem is that i found 15 of these in the bottom of the case when i split it to put in the Rhino gears and reverse upgrade. Does anyone know where these could have came from. I checked the needle bearing in the clutch drum and the one in the transmission assembly and the are both ok. The crank rod seems tight and smooth but I dont know how they could come out of there without destroying something. I have looked through all the diagrams and cannot find anything. Any help would be appreciated.

    THanks

I wonder if they didn't lose a rod before and did a piss poor cleaning job when it went back together. With everything else being good, I'm just throwing a SWAG out
