inner fender mid guard

has any one on here took there inner fender mud guard off and made one out of mettle if so was it hard. and what did u use i am thinking of making some out of flashing so the tires wont rub a hole in the floor board.

I've been running mine for almost two years without them and the Outbacks never rubbed a hole.
