a detachable frame for a window is something that would sell
so it opens with the door instead of snapping on to the body

I'm sure they are all wanting to jump on getting them made but afraid of the liability of selling with everyone out there wanting to make a million in a lawsuit for something as simple as smashing their finger in it when shutting it.........hell don't they still stick a warning label on hairdryers telling you not to use it while in the shower or bathtub? A lot of people out there just looking for anyway to get rich quick and equal amount of shady lawyers willing to pursue it...........pretty sad

It must be the market. (Not enough sales) They really aren't any harder to build then any other design. I was able to keep my shoulder bolsters and mount my striker to them. If they were only half doors and made of aluminum, the factory hinge location would even work.

Buck, those things look great, I envy your skills and hope you get your welder fixed ok. I see a lot of views on this door thread and for those who may not have this level of fab skill like me, I thought I would share some of my shade-tree engineering, in case you want to do something but cannot afford to purchase the real thing or not as skilled as Buck. Part of my push is that I am also frugal and try to save $$ whenever I can but also like playing with my toy. I put some skins on my factory doors with some SS allen buttonhead male-female bolts, ferrules and big SS washers. I used some 4mm ACM surplus material to make the door "skins". ACM is a thin aluminum skin with a plastic composite core. They only weigh about 4 or 5 lbs each is a guess. I believe there are a few other options of materials to use to do this.

    Original doors are intact.

This shot shows the flush head bolt on inside for safety. Also the Advance Auto vinyl door edge trim.

There is some slop in the OEM latches so I made a safety catch, just lift doors a little when opening.

Less mud and a little more security. Hope this helps someone else.
