Well I got tired of that smoke at cold start and decided it was time to take her apart. Got the head off and it is quite obvious yamaha just had a issues with the valves guides. You can see it was pulling oil past the guides into the exhaust port.
Now being the type person I am I can't be satisfied with just repairing the issue so... I ordered a 12:1 wiseco and started measuring for a possible cam and valve train upgrade. I found a guy local to me who is a cam grinder and is rather known in the obselete/exotic car scene. I sent some pics and he told me to get the cams to him and he will get them measured and we can look into some lobe profiles.
I also left messages with kibblewhite and pac about valve springs as the stock ones leave much to be desired.
I will get the head cleaned up and do some mild bowl work on them nothing major just behind the valves.
