Lol, I like number 2. Keeping the the top brace with the same angle of the lower plastic piece that says Yamaha
I would make the skin to be able to go on either side if possible and then you have a win win for everyone. I would guess it would have to be cut a tad bigger to go on the outside but if you had 2 templets and cut out a stack of each then just attach them as needed to whichever side and keep 2 or 3 sets of each on stock and replenish as needed.
I think i would like them on the outside, since mine is the silver viking i would probably take a grinder with a wire wheel on it and put some of that brushed texture design on it.
