    All-new wildcat 1000xx gets 125 hp!

The engine is a naturally aspirated (non-turbo) 998cc, three cylinder very similar to Yamaha’s YXZ1000R. Arctic Cat says their version makes 125 horsepower versus the YXZ’s 114 horsepower. The XX handles that power with King shocks, 17.5 inches of travel, front and rear. 30 inch tires are mounted on 15 inch KMC wheels. It comes with full doors and a race-inspired roll cage for added protection. It looks like Textron has already provided a positive influence on the Arctic Cat lineup of UTVs. Stayed tuned for more info.

125 hp!! I can still remember the feeling I got when I changed the CDI box on the Rhino. Seeing 39 mph for the first time and it was still climbing!! In later years better shocks, then James came along and gave us better bottom and top end!! We could dump thousands of dollars in rebuilding the motor and get 50 hp from a single cylinder. These folks buying these new machines don't have much to look forward to! No need to change anything, just ride! Oh and make big payments!!

I just hope for their sake they upgraded the rest of the bike too. The King shocks sound nice if they are up to King build quality. I rarely ever see an A/C sxs on the trails. Then again I see tons of rzr's, so maybe package it all to sell and give it lots of power and see what happens.

I think it's butt ass ugly but I did like some of the stuff they did different. From what I read in early stages, there is replaceable sub frames around the suspension tie in points. The suspension looked well built in the early pics I seen of it. I was a Cat guy back when I was into sleds. They always handled like they were on rails but they almost always lied about HP.. At least now you know the motor is what they say it is and reliable. I'd love to take one for a spin.

I like the high fenders up front to catch all the fling. Looks improved from the wildcat body style. Seems Yamaha went more to the bug look that Cat already had designed. Like the look, and from what I've seen out West they do pretty damn good on dry/rocky terrain. A lot of trail guides in Moab ran Cats, and with an ungraded exhaust they sound bad-azz. The only bikes to come out of the devils bath tubs pretty much on their own power were the big Wild Cats. I've never owned a Cat but they sound similar to a Dodge, lol.......

Yamaha designs their atv/utv's to look like animals, like eyes glaring at you. That's a thing in Japan. The cab portion of this cat looks ok to me but I would redesign both ends.
I am surprised to hear about the trail guides using the older style cats, which are butt ugly to me. They are very under powered for a liter bike.

I think the rear is too long but I read it was designed that way to hold a full size spare.

BTW the Arctic Cat name is being dropped from the UTV and ATV lineup. Now it will be Textron Offroad wildcat, prowler, etc. The

XX has also been pushed back again until Spring 2018
    2015 Ranger 900 XP EPS.
