There are some high-performance aftermarket companies that have been building fast off-road machines for many years. Lone Star Racing is one of those companies. Starting in the 1980s they were a force to be reckoned with when it came to building fast quads and they have the same expertise now for UTVs too.
Guys who drive their UTVs hard in rough terrain, they know that the chance of rolling over does exist. That’s why a stronger roll cage is one of the first upgrades they consider buying. It’s the smartest first step before spending money on more horsepower.
Designing and building roll cages for UTVs is a large part of Lone Star Racing’s business. We’re going to take a look at the one they offer for the Yamaha YXZ1000R. It has an integrated rear bumper designed into the cage.
The entire cage is designed to be much stronger than stock and provide extra protection to the driver and passenger. It’s made from 4130 chromoly steel tubing and has the option of windshield V-bars and mounts for LED light bars. It also comes with an aluminum roof.
Another priority for Lone Star Racing was they wanted their cage to have a pleasing flow to the eye and improve the overall look of the car. We think they did a good job at that. It starts at $1,949.
