Hmm. I don’t know what that is. It looks like maybe something that was clamping a cable or something and got sucked into the cvt intake maybe. I wonder if it could be the inside part of one of the weights. But maybe something else. I can tell someone has been in that sheave before.

And here's the final pic of the wet clutch. Don't know if you can see it real well to tell if it's shot or not.

Hard to say with that single pic but it looks ok to me. Doesn’t look burnt. Looks like it still has substantial ridges. Would like to see a couple of more clear pics.

There’s not even a hint of grease in it.

This is what mine looked like the first time it was opened at 3k mile:

I noticed that there was no grease. I wasn't sure how much the factory put in those, so I was thinking that it was all gone by now. The sheave face could use some smoothing, the wet clutch shoes look decent.

Ok here's two more pics of the clutch I went and bought a socket the metric one but it don't work on mine so I should've got the standard one. Oh well I may go back to the parts store and try again. I figure I might as well slug it while it's apart.

Was the socket a just little loose? Or a little tight?

I’m pretty sure the craftsman 12 Point 27mm in my box is what I used but could be misremembering. 27mm=1.063” and 1 1/16 = 1.0625 so they’re essentially the same. But some brands vary in their tolerances. But if the 27 is way off then I led you astray.
