Thread: Reverse Issue

    Reverse Issue

I have an issue and it doesn't happen all the time so I am at a loss on where to start looking.

Some times I will put my rhino in reverse and hit the gas and it goes straight tot the rev limiter it is like there is zero torque no balls to get it moving. sometimes I can switch it to 4X4 and it will go. So does this sound electrical in the rev limiter sensor crap or does this sound drive line based?

I am clue less as like i said it doesn't happen every time.

Thanks guess for any advice as you can see in my slug, my machine is a 07 - 660 stock with nothing but a msd charger.

Is it like it's in neutral when it does it?

no not like that it is like you backed up to a wall and hit the gas it doesn't feel like it tries to move and hits the rev limiter real fast. Each time it has happened I had stopped in the woods on a small grade and needed to back up mind you the grade is very small so i found it odd that I would need 4x4 to back up it.

So I was wondering if there was something in the clutching that would cause reverse to act like that or if it is the reverse rev limiter kicking in when it should not be.

It is hard to trouble shoot when it doesn't happen all the time it is like chasing a ghost.

Its a long shot -but my mind wants to eliminate the 4 wheel drive switch as a potential culprit from a past experience. Is your 4 wheel switch sticky or a little difficult to operate? If so you might pull it out, clean it and make sure it is functioning like new. You might also check the level sensor.......
