float level?
Could someone please post up the best way to check the float level on a 2007 rhino 660? I keep getting fuel in the oil even after cleaning it and I want to make sure the floats are right.
The manual sayes something like position the float so it rests at the plunger but does not shovel in on it heck I have turned that thing every way i can and it is hard to see when the float makes contact with the plunger.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks

I have always used a clear piece of tubing connected to the carb bowl drain, held the tubing upright beside the bowl and body of the carb, then opened the drain screw. The fuel will fill the tube as high as it is inside the bowl and you can see how high the level actually is inside the carb. Then make adjustments as necessary. The level is usually right near the mating/gasket surface of the bowl and carb body. Another thing to check is that your float needle is not getting stuck open, with gunk or varnish, which will cause the fuel level to rise to the point of it dumping fuel into the intake/ head, into the cylinder, past the rings and into the oil.

Here is a quick and simple way to check your float level. Put a clear hose onto the drain nipple on the bottom of the carb. Then loop it along the side of the carb with the peak of the loop a bit higher than the carb. Open the drain valve on the side of the float bowl with the engine (or electric fuel pump) and you should see the fuel level in the looped hose. Compare it with the seam between the float bowl and body of the carb, it should be very close to the same level.

thank you guys for the help, Well it has taken me a couple weeks to get time to work on this and I cleaned the carb and adjust the floats to where both physical measurement and clear tube measurement show it should be fine but I am still getting fuel out the over flow.
it starts up runs fine no over flow at idle but get on the gas and rev it up then you get fuel coming out and also when you shut it off.
So I think it might be time for a full carb. rebuild, maybe the needle and seat are worn out.
ugh always something.
