Yamaha Viking 3 vs Teryx 4

Ok guys. Need some info, opinions and advice. I’m looking at some Yamaha Vikings, the 3 seater. I currently have a 2017 Teryx 4 which I love driving on the trails. It has a JBS clutch which is awesome. But the reason I’m looking at the Viking is because I never have more than 3 seats filled in the Teryx, the bed is to small, it’s loud and it’s hot in the summer. My main concern switching to a Viking is, is it louder or quieter than the Teryx and is it cooler while riding it? If there isn’t much difference I’ll just keep the Teryx.

Also if I switched to the Viking, does James still make the doors for it? If I keep the Teryx I’ll be buying some of the doors that he’s making now for the t4s.

I expect Yamaha to put the 850 in the Viking for the 2020 models probably change the body, also.

Well dang. I might just wait to see what happens with the Viking. I’ve bout talked myself into keeping the Teryx anyways. The heat and noise doesn’t really bother me that much. It’s my wife that keeps telling me how loud and hot it is. The bed size is what I don’t like the most. But it’s a dang good trail machine.

For trail riding keep the Teryx and turn the radio up. Are the Teryx door easily removable? Just removing one of the rears would help the heat escape. Remove more for more air flow or drive faster.

I would wait for the 2020 model Viking if I was considering buying one. I have no information from a reliable source that the 850 will be the engine but I expect Viking and Grizzly to get upgraded.
