    This doesn't look good

Got the passenger seat under water. Hadn't drove it much because I shortly bent my tie rod after that. Finally got the tie rod and pulled out of the shop and it sounded a little funny. I started checking fluids and this was the transmission oil.

Dang. I think all vents go under the hood besides the rear diff but wouldn't suprise me if it was disconnected.

Not sure. I was thinking maybe the dip stick. I left the plug out all night. Gonna put fresh oil in it and see what happens. Ride in two weeks so worst case, I'll drive it till it breaks and use the warranty, maybe.

I would change that fluid a few times. Like drive it around the yard then change, 1 weekend then change, then probably 1 more time if it looks good.

I was thinking the same. I should have enough to do 2 but not enough to change the diffs if I do the transmission twice. And Id really like to do more than twice. Problem is nearest place that sells yamahalube is 30 miles away and closed by the time I get off work. However, tomorrow is Saturday so I maybe I can get over there and get a few more quarts.

Looks like cheap old Napa gear oil meets SAE API GL-4 Hypoid gear oil specs so I think I'll flush that through it twice before finishing up with Yamaha brand unless anyone sees that being a problem.
