Excellent advice! They wanted $12.85 which is roughly 1/3 the price that Yamaha quotes.
So, I am off to the wizard to get a comparable price tomorrow.

Price is always an issue with me, and most everyone else that I know of, for that matter.

    Thank you !

The part number for the Key Switch is: 5UG-H2510-00-00

As you can tell from the part number it is the same switch as used in the old Rhinos (and many og the other Yamaha machines with the same style key. It does come with 2 keys, and I checked the price at Yamaha Sports Plaza to be $25.64, but I am thinking that book on it is only about $32-36.

The X111 (YM55) key blank is the same one that I got when I was on my trip without my key (had to double check last night). There are supposedly 2 different versions of the Yamaha Key. They are mirror images of each other, but seems the more common is the one listed.

There are black key caps available if you want to spend the extra $5-8 to have the extra key match the rest, but the grey one for the "Turtle Mode" switch under the hood on the firewall is not available. The key for the "Turtle Mode" seems to be the same cut, but that isn't always the case.

    Good luck Steve.

Well after a trip to Beaverton MC I was surprised that the parts tech
said no way to matching the 2/3 off price.
Looks like I will be ordering online , perhaps later this evening.

Who would guess, eh .... ?

And, lest I forget: Thank you all so much for all of your suggestions.
All were excellent, to my way of thinking !

I took in this pix to my ACE hardware store and they found this blank and cut keys for me at around $6. So I now have 2 spares for a measly $6 instead of the $30 some that the Yamaha wanted for their "replacement" switch.
I wish that life was a lot better like this than in the real world.....

This was a huge savings for me because you posted this pix ! Thank you in big way....

Happy it helped. I didn't think about the blank numbers until shortbus mentioned them.

That's the whole point here, right? We all just want to help each other out. I know that Steve has helped me with many projects that he doesn't even know...

    You are more than welcome.

    Keep your electrical how-to's coming.

Will do, to the best of my ability.

These last few weeks, I have been swamped with too many "must do now" tasks.
Way too many irons in the fire as it is.

Are things improving?, I have no idea !
