Oil Question

Ok, so I have a question in the ever lasting oil debate. I have a gallon of T6 5w40 in the garage.....It's time for an oil change on the X2.....I see the "S" rating has been removed from the jug, not sure when that happened. but it DOES have the JASO MA/MA2 ratings (weird, because I thought that was a gas requirement for Japanese small engines). I know people swear by it while others preach Yamalube. Is it safe to use still? I would normally use Yamalube, Maxima, Klotz, or Mobil1.
