Yamaha Wolverine R Max

I never cared for white until I got my 2016 Wolverine. That was August 2015, the white with alloy wheels was a new combo, the previous models were either blue or green with black steel wheels. June 2018 the Beckley WV dealer received one white and one maroon X2. James bought the maroon, it was the same color as his Rhino, and I bought the white.
As many improvements as the rmax has over the 850 I can't justify the price difference over my X2. I have YXZ wheels/tires, and seats. I have the JBS clutch and springs. So I would gain 40 hp and improved suspension travel, neither of which I really need. I prefer the stage 4 kyb shocks over the 3 position stage 2 fox shocks, especially with my JBS springs.
I do like the rmax interior more than the X2, but the exterior styling is very generic looking. It looks like a Polaris General with a Honda Pioneer front. I prefer the more distinctive Yamaha look.
The rmax will be a good seller for Yamaha. The standard now in big bore sxs is 1,000cc and 100+ hp. along with 12+ suspension travel. So the specs are inline with the other manufacturers.

I feel the exact same but for what the green comes with compared to the gray, its a little better deal. I wish they had the Alpine White in RMAX4.

I would never let color dictate if I buy a machine or not but my X4 and RS1 were the first non white SXS I'd have. Previous Rhino, Wildcat, and Ranger were all white. I'm usually leading and sometimes this includes trail blazing. I liked the white because it doesn't show scratches as bad. I think the the Blue X4 was better looking but I had a bunch of fine scratches in it. However, with the RMAX actually being painted, I think it will be easier to repair scratches when it comes time to sell. I have a bad habit of only keeping my SXSs for a couple of years.

I was a little shocked at the sticker price of the new RMAX but I think it will come down or there will be incentives after they have been out for a while. All brands are kind of high right now IMO with not much incentive. I bought my 18 Blue X4 with alloy wheels, roof, and winch for $14300 when the sticker on it at the time was well over $16XXX without a roof and winch.

White does hide scratches and it's a bit cooler than dark colors in hot weather. I definitely do factor in color in many things I buy, sxs included. Black is my least favorite, bright colors are not for me either.

As for rmax prices, as we've discussed, these are msrp prices we are seeing. After the newness wears off, as with most every product, the prices will fall.

that's awesome, I guess you're getting the LE with all the gadgets? I'm keeping my little X2 unless one of the boys total it It's perfect for me now with the JBS springs, Rigid lights, 29" horns, and the mod you told me about the other day, it's a lil woods runner
