I’m not sure where to post this but here you are.....

Was out back in the bigger dunes and had an axle break!

McGivered some straps to stabilize axle and played on!!!

The clutch from JBS has worked flawless and we are having a great time here!!!!

Yes Thanks so much to James and Nicki for getting my parts out for the trip!!!

Day three we brokethe axle!!!

I strapped it up and we continue to play!

Any suggestions for an able replacement?

I am long travel + 6”

Sheave are the conical faces that comprise a pulley. Nothing to do with a "clutch" which usually have flat friction faces and make your stick shift go. Face it, pulley engagement "clutches" are a cheap way to build a self propelled lawnmower.

The true clutch in our machines are centrifugal friction clutch running inside of a drum. Essentially similar to drum brakes in the old time cars. The pulley sheaves and belt comprise a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission).

I believe that the confusion in terms comes from early snowmobiles where the CVT belt actually went slack for "neutral" and the sheaves engaged the belt as the engine revved up. I expect that those are no longer built that way, as it is quite hard on the belt due to slippage. Black smoke comes off of a slipping belt as it slips, making for a short life.
