In that scenario, The plane cannot take off! But the way it's stated it could be possible either way! Tricky Timmi!

Imagine that the wheels were replaced with skis on snow (or floats in water). The plane manages to take off. With wheels, this is dependent on the pilot releasing the brakes of course. The engines push air to the rear to create thrust to propel the plane. If they relied on traction of the tires to propel the plane, they would fall to the ground as soon as they lose contact with it. Ask Evel K., as he has experience with that sort of thing.
It would be an entirely different thing if they hooked the jet up backwards onto the catapult on the flight deck of an aircraft carrier.

It sounds like they are saying that the plane is stationary and the conveyor is spinning under the wheels? How will it create any air over the wings for lift? I still think you can take this a few different ways?

That was weird. But the plane will take off. That conveyor could be turning double the speed and it would still take off. The tires aren't accelerating the plane. If the tires were driven like a car would be you wouldn't be able to fly

If the brake was on and the conveyor was propelling the plane Yes it would take off! If the conveyor was matching the wheel speed in the opposite direction the plane would be sitting still.
