if it was the original amp it was prolly more of a fire hazard anyway.
takes some learnins to rebuild them, but once they are rebuilt they will give you midrange sound like you never heard before.

My early 1940s RCA 19K console radio just became a badass BT Jukebox.
I added a AC to DC converter to power it, 250w 4ch Rockford Fosgate amp w/ Bluetooth, 2 Cerwin Vega 6x9's, Rockford Fosgate 10" subwoofer, Volume control and LED lighting. The vids don't do it justice, it's crazy loud and the bass is fantastic.
